Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join their established growing IT Support company based in Maidstone, Kent.

The salary and benefits of this role:

  • up to £28,000 salary depending on experience 
  • Minimum of 8 days Working from Home per month 
  • Parking permit is provided 

The role entails:

  • This is a varied role where no two weeks will likely be the same
  • Providing direct end-user support to customers through the telephone and online web/email 
  • Roughly 90% of the role will be office based with approximately 10% of time being spent at clients sites 

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Customer service experience and confidence dealing with clients
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7, XP, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 
  • Previous experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, administration and set up
  • Good working knowledge of web applications, networks, protocols and email (SMTP, POP3 and Exchange)
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange management on 2013/2016/2019
  • A good understanding of TCP/IP Networking and experience with DHCP, DNS and VPN
  • Previous experience with Office 365 tenant setup and administration 
  • Experience with Firewalls and Switches and Routers
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory 
  • Experience with troubleshooting printers and copiers
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
