Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client based in Canterbury, Kent for a Community Area Manager (Aspirations) to join their established charity 

Aspirations is a Community Lottery Fund/European Social Fund (ESF) Building Better Opportunities (BBO) project. It is designed to increase the wellbeing, resilience and skills and provide a pathway to work, training, volunteering or work-like experiences, for people who have mental health issues which are a barrier to them. Partners of Aspirations include: arts, sports, the voluntary sector and is delivered across Kent, Medway and East Sussex. 

The role entails: 

  • Developing and improving the services ensuring that the impact and effectiveness of services can be evidenced 
  • Ensuring that all services reflect and are informed by the external landscape
  • Managing the performance of the Aspirations contract, ensuring that all aspects run smoothly and effectively 
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with commissioners, funders, health and social care providers and voluntary sector providers 
  • Ensuring that the team runs smoothly and effectively 

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Qualification in management at level 5 or above or a commitment to work towards this 
  • Experience of multi-agency, strategic partnerships
  • Experience working within the health and social care sector
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • The ability to work independently and also manage a team 
  • The ability to work under pressure and to make difficult decisions 
  • A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

The salary for this position is dependent on experience but is between £34,500 - £38,091
