Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client, an established charity based in Canterbury, Kent for an Area Manager

The role entails (but is not limited to):

  • Developing and improving areas of service. Ensuring that all services are having a suitable impact and are effective
  • Adapting services so that they take into account: policy developments, the external landscape and best practice
  • Managing performance and risk related to a number of contracts, ensuring strong and effective relationships with commissioners, funders, health and social care providers and voluntary sector partners
  • Developing existing areas of service and initiating new areas and new ideas
  • Supporting the development and management of effective services’ governance, including quality assurance structures and systems
  • Ensuring that all services operate within budgets, and highlighting any areas where this can be improved
  • Supporting and managing a team, ensuring that all members of staff develop and are able to work independently and make effective independent decisions
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, commissioners and funders

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Qualification in management at level 5 or above or a commitment to work towards this 
  • Experience of multi-agency, strategic partnerships
  • Experience managing large scale projects and contracts
  • Experience working within the health and social care sector
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • The ability to work independently and also manage a team 
  • The ability to work under pressure and to make difficult decisions 
  • A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

The salary for this position is between £34,500 – 38,091 depending on experience
