Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Part Time Bookkeeper to join their business based in Leicester

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small and friendly team. Our client offers flexibility with hours (25-30 hours per week Monday to Friday)

A successful candidate will be responsible for processing all of the company's financial information 

The role entails (but is not limited to):

  •   Sales Ledger: Ensuring that all outstanding payments are chased, resolving customer debit notes and managing customer credit limits and payment terms
  • Purchase Ledger: Processing all supplier invoices and ensuring that they are paid on time. Reconciling supplier invoices against goods received notes and raising debit notes where appropriate 
  • General Ledger: Setting up new accounts and cost centres when required, making sure that there is correct allocation of expenditure to cost centres and ensuring reconciliation of control accounts 
  • Banking: Managing and reconciling all company bank accounts, making sure that there are adequate funds available 
  • VAT: Preparing quarterly VAT returns 
  • Management Accounts: Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring that control accounts, reconciliations, provisions, fixed asset register and other ad hoc reports are maintained and available when required
  • Financial Accounting: Assisting with the production and analysis of year-end financial accounts, liaising with the company's external accountants
  • Reviewing, updating and implementing existing internal accounting systems and introducing new systems where appropriate 
  • Preparing all outgoing payments to suppliers, ensuring that all cheques and bank transfers are approved and posting all details on order processing systems and into the cash book

A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • AAT level 2/3 or above 
  • Previous experience working as a bookkeeper 
  • A good understanding of financial information and systems
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good communication skills 
  • Being comfortable working in a small team

The salary for this position is between £25,000 - £28,000 (pro rata) depending on experience 

The hours for this position are between 25-30 hours per week Monday to Friday
