Bookkeeper - Herne Bay

Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an Experienced Bookkeeper to join their business based in Herne Bay, Kent 

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • AAT qualified or ACCA part qualified 
  • At least 3 years experience working within a bookkeeping role 
  • Good working knowledge of Sage 50 and Sage 200
  • Good knowledge of Excel and uploading returns to HMRC portals

The role entails:

  • Preparing VAT returns including submissions to HMRC 
  • Posting/managing the Sales Ledger: Ensuring that all outstanding payments are chased, resolving customer debit notes and managing customer credit limits and payment terms 
  • Posting/managing the Purchase Ledger: Processing all supplier invoices and ensuring that they are paid on time. Reconciling supplier invoices against goods received notes and raising credit notes where appropriate
  • Bank reconciliations 
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts 

The salary for this position is dependent on experience but in the region of £15,000 - £18,000 (£25,000 - £30,000 pro rata)

The hours of work are 22.5 per week which is flexible (either 3 full days or spread across 5 days)
