Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Deputy Care Home Manager to join their residential care home in Shanklin, Isle of Wight.
A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Emergency First Aid (3 day course) however, this is not essential as full training will be given
- Experience administering medication
- Experience caring for individuals in a health care setting, including completing personal care and understanding dementia and mental health needs
- Experience leading and managing a team
- A kind, compassionate and patient nature
- Understanding CQC, national minimum standards and key care principles
The role entails:
- Supporting the Home Manager in the daily management and running of the Care Home
- Ensuring that the needs of service users are met
- Promoting the Coverage Care Values
- Ensuring that all new staff are given a comprehensive induction, and that all staff are aware of the standards that are expected.
- Making sure that Personal Development Plans and personal paperwork are completed as required
- Ensuring that the rota is covered
- Assisting the Home Manager in managing the financial matters associated with the running of the home
- Working with the Home Manager to ensure that all of the company’s policies, procedures and legal obligations are followed
- Making sure that the Home Manager is kept up to date with any ongoing issues
- Deputising for the Home Manager in their absence and when required
This role will involve working on a rolling shift pattern, including alternate weekends. This means that a flexible attitude to working hours, especially in regard to covering absence, holidays (including bank holidays) is required.
The salary for this role is up to £25,000 but may be flexible for the right candidate
