IT Support Engineer - Chelmsford

Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client based in Witham, Essex for an IT Support Engineer to join their friendly and supportive team

The role entails:

  • Ensuring that all tickets dealt with in a timely manner and that they are updated accurately
  • Visiting clients premises in order to implement any fixes or to look at issues that cannot be resolved remotely 
  • Using Remote Support Software to try and deal with clients problems 
  • Documenting processes and procedures 
  • Checking in the control console for issues and then resolving them 
  • Building work stations and servers 
  • Migrating email over to Microsoft 365
  • Migrating data to cloud storage

A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Good attention to detail
  • A good attitude and presence towards clients 
  • Good communication skills (telephone, written and face to face)
  • A full clean driving licence and access to your own car 
  • A high level of knowledge and understanding of Networking - switches, routers, IP, DHCP, DNS, ARP, VPN, Shares
  • A high level of knowledge and understanding of client operating systems (Windows 7, 8, 10)
  • Experience migrating, configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 
  • Experience disinfecting a PC with a virus or malware 
  • Experience backing up and restoring files and folders, whole PC's and whole servers 
  • Experience and understanding of scripting languages and command line
  • Experience with SBS 2008, 2011, Server 2008, Server 2012 and understanding server configurations for Exchange, IIS, DHCP, DNS, SMB, CIFS, joining and leaving a domain, credentials management, user management, active directory, group policy, file and folder permissions and share permissions. 

The salary for this position is between £19,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
