Payroll Manager - Maidstone

Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Payroll Manager to join their established practice based in Maidstone, Kent

The role entails (but is not limited to):

  • Managing all aspects of the payroll function including setting up and registering with HMRC
  • Running payrolls 
  • Calculating SSP, SMP and SPP where due 
  • Using software or manually calculating tax, pension and national insurance
  • Speaking with clients regularly to deal with any queries 
  • Training and mentoring junior members of staff 
  • Collating and entering payroll journals 
  • Auditing payroll 
  • Ensuring that all deadlines are met 

A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • At least 3 years recent experience working in payroll within an accountancy practice
  • Good attention to detail 
  • Good working knowledge of payroll and being up to date with all payroll legislation 
  • Experience using Sage is essential for this position
  • Good communication skills 
  • Excellent time management skills 

The salary for this role is dependant on experience but up to £32,000
