Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an Accounts Assistant to join their practice based near Epsom, Surrey

The role entails

  • Preparing accounts from client's records for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns using Sage or Xero
  • Preparing business tax computations 
  • Inputting data into the personal tax software with the use of a checklist and marking section to ensure each section is complete 
  • Speaking with clients in order to deal with any queries 
  • Writing draft covering letters and supporting paperwork to go with accounts 

A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience 

  • AAT level 2 minimum or ACA or ACCA part qualified 
  • At least 2 years experience working with a firm of accountants 
  • A good understanding of double -entry bookkeeping
  • Experience using IRIS and Xero is desirable 
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good basic understanding of accounting standards/FRSs for accounts 

The salary for this role is depending on experience but up to £26,000
