Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client based in Folkestone, Kent for a Service Manager (IPS Specialist)

IPS is an employment support service which is integrated within community mental health teams for people who experience severe mental health conditions. It is designed to help people find employment which it is hoped will benefit the user by giving them a greater sense of purpose and wellbeing and income. It is hoped that this will help service users overcome barriers and prevents them from feeling isolated at home.

The role entails (but is not limited to):

  • Working alongside the relevant Area Manager in order to support and develop the IPS services, enabling clarity of service pathways, responsiveness to need and evidence of impact
  • Suggesting and making improvements to the IPS services
  • Managing effective risk and safeguarding practices for the IPS services
  • Establishing and maintaining strong and effective partnerships and collaborations both inside and outside of the charity. Particularly relationships with support referrals into the service and employer relationships
  • Overseeing and managing budgets
  • Speaking with clients and colleagues to ensure that client involvement and co-production approaches are embedded across the services
  • Working alongside the relevant Area Manager in order to support the development, implementation and management of IPS services’ outcome measurement and monitoring, enabling evidence of need, reach and impact
  • Preparing and presenting reports to line managers, ensuring that any areas where there is an opportunity for improvement are identified
  • Assisting with the recruitment of staff

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Qualification in management at level 3 or above or a commitment to work towards this
  • Experience delivering employment services
  • Experience managing a team and making autonomous decisions
  • A full driving licence and access to a car
  • Experience delivering IPS employment services would be beneficial
  • Experience improving and managing services, projects or contracts
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding the health and social care landscape

The salary for this position is £27,800
