Venrec are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client; an established firm of Chartered Accountants based in Maidstone, Kent; for a Trainee Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, growing practice where there is a real opportunity to develop and learn.
This role would suit someone who is interested in undergoing training to become an accountant. Our client is happy to support the successful candidate through their initial Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) training.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience
- Good organisation skills and the ability to efficiently follow processes
- Good A-Level results or a degree
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A driven and motivated personality
The role will entail
Office Administration
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing post
- Scanning client records
- Managing the firm’s archiving system
- Setting up meeting rooms, ensuring that the computers are all updated and that the rooms are well presented
- Preparing refreshments for colleagues and client meetings
- Making sure that all office supplies are maintained
Accounting and bookkeeping (on the job training will be provided)
- Assisting with the preparation of accounts
- Assisting with the preparation of tax returns
- Assisting with bookkeeping using both desktop and cloud based software
Salary Package
- Salary up to £22,000 depending on experience
- Study support for AAT qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians)

- Statutory holiday
- Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00
