Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client based in Teynham, Kent for a Night Transport Supervisor
The role entails:
- To ensure that all elements of the job are communicated effectively to all personnel especially drivers and sub-contractors.
- To ensure that people under your control work within a safe environment and follow drivers hours regulations when driving
- Close liaison with fellow team members and management to discuss efficiencies and agreed operational practises.
- To assist in the control of equipment ensuring that customer requirements are met and recorded.
- To monitor RDC performances
- To liaise with customers regarding present or future developments
- To support and if necessary covering the Operations Manager in meetings or customer reviews
- To ensure that all vehicle and trailer services are completed on time
- To ensure Enterprise completed daily and all trips fully resourced on a daily basis
- To undertake additional tasks/duties as may be required by management from time to time
- To make appropriate changes to the plan based on changes within the operation
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience
- Experience of supervising workloads within a distribution/transport environment or similar
- A sound understanding of vehicle planning within a transport environment or similar
- Knowledge and experience of FMCG environment
- Sound Geographical Knowledge
- Basic understanding of driver’s hours regulations/Tachograph law
- Able to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to work
- Written and verbal communication Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Raising others’ capability
- Thoroughness/attention to detail
The salary for this position is £36,398
The shifts are Wednesday - Saturday 19:00 - 07:00
